Imesian vine-beasts

Vine-beasts are gigantic invertebrates from the tropics of Imest. They are the size of medium-large trees and can be found near rivers and lakes.

It is very difficult for vine-beasts to move, so they are fixed to one area for a majority of their lives. Due to this, like carnivorous plants, they wait for their prey to come to them. By using a special limb that evolved to have the appearance of a fish, their prey gets lured until it is easy to reach.

Abilities:

  • Mimicry (limb with bait)
  • Fast regeneration
  • Releasing toxins
Although vine-beasts look like plants, they can easily be mistaken for one. However, underneath their appearance, there is meat underneath.

Origins of the Baxas' powers

Ile-Irkahta, Planet of the Baxas

Being one of the most barren planets to ever hold life, at least out of all the planets known to the Piarosar System, Ile-Irkahta spent a majority of its time creating some of the most powerful life-forms to exist.

Over megaannums, most of its organic life have formed strong symbiotic bonds with one another in order to survive the panet's harsh environments. Of all the life on the planet, baxas, the dominating species of Ile-Irkahta, has the most unique symbiosis. Not only do they have natural bonds with other species, they have also mastered the skill of domesticating various life-forms to benefit their societies.

However, before all this domestication even ocurred, there was one kind of plant that the baxas bonded most with. And that is a type of herb family - nimalpahma. Nimalpahma-type herbs have evolved with baxas to give them powers that helped them gain intelligence in the first place.

Powers of the Phalzevor

Phalzevors are giant creatures that wander the cosmos. They are highly intelligent.

However, despite their colossal size, they are actually very frail and delicate, so much to the point where it is impossible to physically interact with the world around them at ease.

To compensate, they possess great powers that guarantee the continuation of their societies, and species as a whole.

There is one catch, however. Their powers rely on the existence of other life.

POWER: The ability to psychologically hijack a living being

This is their power: to partially take over the mind of a living being, their host. The more intelligent the host, the better.

The effects that phalzevors have can manipulate their hosts' mental stability and emotions. They can even create hallucinations, affect dreams and instincts.

The influence is most guaranteed to work. The likeliest scenarios go as follows: (a) the host often mistakes the phalzavor's commands as their own thoughts, or (b) gain a sense of an extreme, almost cultish, respect for these god-like creatures.

Throughout the galaxy, groups of phalzevors search for life to use to benefit themselves. It is a key to their survival.

Although the phalzevors' uses for their powers is mostly to benefit their societies and species, sometimes they even search for life to toy with for their entertainment.
